Biometric Pen Verifies Signatures PDF Print E-mail

Myriad options exist for verifying your identity nowadays, but one that seems the easiest for technophobes to figure out is signature verification. Secure Signature Systems has released a biometric pen that, when plugged into your computer’s USB port, analyzes your signature to confirm you are who you say.

The Bio-Pen offers the advantage of zero learning curveâ€â€?simply sign a piece of paper and your transaction or login is authorized, just like a normal credit card purchase. It’s important to mention that the pen tracks the composition of your signature and not simply the resulting image, making forgery a near-impossibility (unless you have an autopen lying around). I would like to see this technology incorporated into Logitech’s IO2 digital writing pen, but if the Bio-Pen measures pressure and angle, that might be easier said than done. Currently in trial at banks across the UK.
