Microsoft Unveils Office Live

Microsoft is in the early stages of offering a "lightweight" version of their Office suite online for beta testing. So far they are planning to implement Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote through the service. Surprisingly (to me at any rate!) the service is compatible with the Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari browsers. Not so surprising is that the service will not be free- but will require an active subscription to the Microsoft Office Live service which can be purchased independently or with a full retail version of Office. The purpose of the online Office suite is to offer better collaboration on document creation. You can check out the site or sign up for the (currently) free beta by following the link.
